Singular sock progress
Probably because I started it in April, this singular Hiiumaa sock has seemed to drag on and on. I am pushing to finish it up before I succumb to the temptation to start a new pair. I'm running low on green yarn and i'm curious to see what will end first- the yarn or the sock.

hats in progress

First of all, note the little skull markers. Don't they look fabulous? This was my first attempt at knitting a one-skein hat. I knit it at 160 stitches around, wanting to make sure it was properly large enough. However, I ran out of yarn before I could close the crown.

After a few days of deliberation, I decided not to go buy another skein, but instead to knit it over again. I knit from the crown down, with 140 stitches per row. I didn't even need to frog the hat, I just knit directly from the old hat onto the new.
Can you see the pattern on this yarn? It never repeats. If I had two skeins to make a pair of socks, I don't think I could match them unless the skeins each started in the same spot.

incoming buddha!
I've been wanting those buddha stitch markers. So when I needed a little giftie for a package I'm putting together, I decided to order from Sunne again. I liked the variety pack she had, which was odds and ends she had leftover but made a really nice assortment.
I ordered it Thursday night, paid Friday morning, and it arrived today in the mail. It was all packaged all pretty and the markers are just as nice as the last batch.

Note the cute little sunshine extra!

Looooooot!

Today my #1Son called me at work to report that I'd received not one but TWO packages. He probably hoped I'd say something like, "oh, son, those are surprise gifts for you!" and barring that, at least a "Hey, why don't you open those for me?". I said neither.
I've been having this issue with the library. I keep checking out the same books and they keep making me give them back. After countless holds and renewals, I finally was able to apply some credit towards buying them for my very own. The Knitted Babes
And, in package number two, my new stitch markers! My picture doesn't do them justice. You can see the skull markers here and the others here. I bought them off of Etsy from Sunneshine. I hadn't heard any reviews or recommendations of her, I just wanted some skulls to hang in my knitting. She shipped the very next morning, and they arrived the following business day. She has all sorts of cute markers, like a set of Buddhas, and Hello Kitty, and others. I decided I wanted a set with a lot of markers, so that I could lose a few and not be completely out.
